Our History

A young girl playing tennis on an outdoor court, hitting a tennis ball with a racket.

Tennis has become the world’s second most popular sport largely because of the geographic, cultural, stylistic and racial diversity of its professionals.  The sport has developed passionate fans of different backgrounds because of this diversity.

A large outdoor display panel titled 'The ATA and Black Tennis Pioneers' with a timeline, photographs, and text about Black tennis players from 1932 to 1995. The panel features black and white photos of players and groups, set against a green background with black at the top. The display is mounted on black ground cover, with trees and pink flowering bushes in the background.

Our Mission

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do. Visit www.blacktennishalloffame.com learn more about our organization.
