Tennis Under The Lights
Tennis Under the Lights is a community-oriented summer event series in Richmond that aims to bring people together through the sport of tennis, while also honoring the legacy of Arthur Ashe. The event began in 2019 in conjunction with the renaming of Arthur Ashe Boulevard and has since grown into a recurring celebration of inclusivity, athletics, and public access. Through free evening tennis clinics, entertaining matches open to all levels, and social festivities, the program fosters health, connection, and education around the game. Importantly, proceeds and donations from Tennis Under the Lights are channeled into supporting both junior and adult tennis development initiatives across Richmond through nonprofit partners like the Richmond Tennis Association (RTA) and Metro Richmond Tennis Club (MRTC).
